As Autumn is now in full swing, the turn of the season welcomes the the colder, brisk weather to our Cornish shores. This drop in temperature can often leave us wanting to shut our windows, light the fire and turn the heating on. However, keeping the windows closed for a long period of time can cause unwanted problems for homeowners.

Common complications can include the hinges seizing up which could prove difficult bringing them back to full working order. As well as this, cold weather can cause the locking mechanisms to fail in windows, which could be an extra, unwanted, expense the following year. To help prevent these problems arising, we recommend opening your windows on a weekly basis and lubricating them occasionally to keep them running smoothly – which will certainly help to increase your windows longevity.

If you were considering replacing your windows, you can contact us for some more information.
